Project Aware does not ask for money and handles its’ affairs on the principle of a “zero-costs-method”. Project Aware believes that a true charity should not ask for money without a good reason. On the one hand Project Aware will not shout out the need for donations with boldly printed bank-account numbers, but on the other hand it will surely raise its’ voice for Awareness, which according to Project Aware must simply remain free of charge.
The consequence of this choice is that the costs of running the organization are supplied by sponsors that endorse this initiative. Project Aware is completely dependent on the goodwill of third parties. Besides a number of companies that offer specific services or products, a good number of professionals also volunteer their resources and services, as well as all of our donor members who have become Aware. This is the group that makes our mission possible.
Project Aware has chosen this unique business strategy, and proves that money does not make the world go around. There are plenty of people willing to provide services to others without accepting payment in return. This is the reason that the organization emphasizes its’ goal of raising consciousness and puts the money issue on the back burner. This choice in strategy contributes to the clarity, transparency and trustworthiness of Project Aware. This (new) Aware strategy appeals to many people.
