Project Aware is symphonizing with the suppressed people in Tibet

Every time when you open a newspaper or turn on the news you hear that the death rate in Tibet is growing. According to the Tibetans the protests caused the death of a 140 people. However, China continues to deny these figures and state that the death rate is much lower. How the situation really looks like in Tibet, is for many outsiders unclear. This is due to the fact that China set the tourists and reporters out of there borders. In the meanwhile China agreed to let in some Pro-Chinese reporters back into the country.
The cause of these terrible incidents is definitely clear. The protests in of the Tibetans against China started a couple of weeks ago in Lhasa (capital of Tibet). This as a result of the 49th remembrance of the failed Tibetan uprising in 1959. This means that the Tibetan people are already suppressed for more than 49 years! This means 49 years of violating human rights, torture and oppression of the Tibetan people! In the Netherlands, and may other parts of the western world, human rights are considered normal and not everyone realizes how important freedom actually is.
Coming summer the Olympics will be held in Peking and this results in a lot of media attention for China. This media attention also contributed to the protests of the Tibetans. The prominent Tibetans see the media attention as a chance on independence, human rights and freedom.
At Project Aware different questions about this situation come up; Did everyone forget about how many human rights are violated here in the Netherlands during World War II? Did everyone forget about the inhuman incidents in Iraq? Isn't it time to show as a citizen that you do not agree with the situation in China and other aggressors that just go ahead and do what they want?
Do you want to help the Tibetans and other suppressed in this world in their fight for freedom? Vote for Freedom!

Project Aware at the Dutch liberation day in Amsterdam

Our Aware Support team was at Museumplein in Amsterdam, on the 5th of May, to let people give the significance of freedom a moment’s thought. This was done through the Photo4Freedom project in which everybody's moment of freedom was captured on film. ditisfris photo marketing and models of Models at Work helped the Project Aware staff members on their mission. Were you there at the day of liberty?
Check out your Photo4Freedom here.

    Partnership with StagePlaza continued
    November 17th '06
After a year of successful cooperation between Project Aware and StagePlaza, the partnership will be continued during the next year. Both parties are very pleased about the past year and appear to have much in common.
StagePlaza.nl is Holland's largest Internet based recruitment agency for internships. On their website students and companies can meet each other. This offers a perfect opportunity for Project Aware, since the organisation relies completely on volunteers and interns. That's why StagePlaza has agreed to placing vacancies for Project Aware on their website, free of charge, during the next year.
Project Aware wishes to thank StagePlaza for her support and hopes on a successful continuation of the partnership.

A new year: Project Aware goes ahead
    January 1st '07
Project Aware will start off 2007 with a brand new campaign! In 2006 we reflected upon how we have developed. Within a few years Project Aware has grown from an idea to a real established organisation. In order to keep our heads above water, we had to take a step back this past year. It was a year in which we further professionalized and invested considerably in the development of the organisation, therefore it is now time to launch a smashing campaign. In 2007 Project Aware will reach out and be even more noticeably present in the Netherlands and elsewhere in Europe. Below you can read more about our activities next year. See you in 2007!
Project Aware would like to thank all her supporters for their votes and efforts in the past year. You are the embodiment of our philosophy and take Project Aware's mission further. We hope we can count on you in 2007 as well. Project Aware, like freedom, belongs to us all and together we can bring an end to torture and oppression. We are the voice of their silence.
